Recognising the ongoing uncertainty that coronavirus (COVID-19) is causing it is important for us to let you know what the Ruapuha Uekaha Hapu Trust (RUHT) are doing to keep you our members informed and updated.
On the 25th of March, the New Zealand government announced that the COVID-19 alert level was lifted to Level 4 for a minimum duration of four weeks.
As a result of this announcement Tourism Holdings Ltd (THL) has temporarily closed all Discover Waitomo attractions including the Waitomo Glowworm Caves in an effort to ensure the health and safety of all staff, visitors and the wider community. Appropriate karakia have been carried out by whanau members to put the Cave to rest during this time.
THL will be supporting their staff through this process as they continually review how their operations move ahead on a weekly basis in line with the ever-evolving circumstances we find ourselves in.
Please note that the RUHT continues to process education and marae grants as per normal. Please see the following link if you wish to apply online https://ruht.co.nz/grants-initiatives/education-grants/
We are currently investigating ways that we can support hapu members and in particular our most vulnerable kaumatua during this time.
If you have not registered to be part of the trust please visit our registration page here https://ruht.co.nz/register/
